Pinched from their website… (but if they tell me off for pinching their page I shall remove it, but it’s so nice with that lovely petrol blue and wooden (?) oscillator panel).

Electronic Music 60s & 70s: A Public Reunion

  • Event Type:
  • Duration:
    135 mins

The Science Museum will be hosting a high profile ‘public reunion’ – a panel discussion between some of the key people involved in the development of electronic music in Britain.

The BBC Radiophonic Workshop is best known for the soundtrack and sound effects for Doctor Who. EMS (Electronic Music Studios), though most famous for its iconic VCS3 synthesiser, was also a workshop for new and avant-garde music that welcomed guests from Karlheinz Stockhausen to Paul McCartney.

Join us for a conversation with these pioneers of British electronic music and find out about the extraordinary moment of the 50s and 60s when electronic music was invented.

This event is part of the Oramics to Electronica – Talks Series.
